Arms Down

It's fun to have a band to get all fanboy over, a small band that keeps it coming and gets better with every release. Some favorites require exhausting patience, and diminishing returns only make it harder to get excited when new stuff finally drops. And some bands are so widely loved that they can't be just yours (but that's okay).

Get Him Eat Him are the perfect band for this type of giddy, innocent affection. Listen to "2x2" from their upcoming Arms Down. It's got guitars, horns, pop and charm in the perfect proportions, not to mention an appropriately short attention span. It's a great song, but GHEH don't stop there: go to ArmsDown.com to download their three EPs, free-- one per week over the next three weeks. These include 2005's Rude Reach EP, featuring "Leaders in Doubt", as well as their seminal Catbird Records debut Do As I Tell You. On this you'll find "Exposure", a personal favorite. Finally, you'll be able to download the ...Challenges You To A Game Of Basketball EP in two weeks' time, though you would probably have been better off buying the contraption.

As a parting note, it should be mentioned that the band has wrangled Charles Bissell of the Wrens as well as the Beirut guy to guest on Arms Down. EVERYBODY loves these kids, see? And, finally, Get Sammiches Eat Sammiches is back! I couldn't be happier.
